![]() ![]() This new My Day feature helped me realize how much easier this can all be. Going through day after day, train ride after train ride, to just move items around by changing dates was more annoying than I knew. Tomorrow, My Day points out what I may have missed the day before, and I can quickly bring them into my day. It’s really fast and easy to go through what is due today, yesterday, tomorrow and pick what I want to work on. With Microsoft To-Do, I can pick and choose which items I want to work on today, regardless of due dates. I got into the habit of writing the date in the task title so I would know when it was originally due. I never liked changing it as I wouldn’t remember what the original due date was. Changing my due date changes the item’s meaning. It wasn’t terrible, I could get it done riding the train, but it just wasn’t practical. With Wunderlist, for me to plan my day, I had to set due dates to today, and remove due dates from items I didn’t want to do today. My head can’t keep track of everything I have to do. I live my days through my to-do list because I have a lot on my plate. I’ve grown to rely on Wunderlist, for virtually everything. Thanks, Luise! Sampling from my To-Do, icons are key! It’s all about My Day She was also very supportive on Twitter as I was jumping into To-Do. Check it out, it’s a great list and continued to foster my love for To-Do. Luise Freese shared her 11 reasons why she fell in love with Microsoft To-Do. I can confidently say Microsoft To-Do is worth it! They’ve simplified things to the point that my stupid-large needs also got simplified, things got easier. Then I decided to take a look and they’ve gone and done it. I’ve been eyeballing To-Do for quite some time but never could commit since my stupid-large complex needs across all the aforementioned services. I had Flows, IFTTT, iPhone, Outlook calendar and more, all integrated and working together. Using Microsoft Edge? No problem, read my post that shows you how to install any browser extension from the Chrome App store into Microsoft Edge.I was hesitant to make the jump, as I was in love with Wunderlist. ![]() I also love that you can choose which of your Task lists to add it to and can even configure a reminder date/time right from the in-browser pop-up window. The familiar To Do icon is always present at the top of the browser and the web page title and URL are automatically captured. I had planned on developing my own extension until I found this one and so far I’ve been impressed and it gets the job done. This is epic given many of my tasks originate from webpages or web based systems. A major enabler for me to switch to using To Do was the discovery of the Add to Microsoft To Do Chrome browser extension that allows you to create a To Do Task from any web page with a few clicks. Microsoft has been unifying it’s task management efforts around To Do and we are now seeing far better integration with Outlook email and Planner tasks. I’m now using Microsoft To Do as my daily tasks list to keep me on track. Changing technology often forces me to move away from old methods, discover and embrace new. I’m constantly looking for ways to get myself organised and be more productive. ![]()
